The Ward Campout!

This weekend we went on the ward camp out! This year we spent the night because Brian's parents let us borrow their trailer. Now, I have absolutely no problem camping like this!

Shaeler loves going in the trailer. I think she loves to play house in it because she is always setting up a bed and cleaning the trailer up!

Brian and Jed chatting in the trailer. The pop outs make it nice and big in the front area of the trailer.

This is the master bedroom where Brian and I slept. It was really nice, but I am so tall that my feet hung off the end of the bed. In the middle of the night, I heard a man yelling. I looked out the window and saw no one. Come to find out the next morning, the campsite next to us had some under the influence people running through our camp grounds trying to steal our fire wood. Nice, really nice!

There are a lot of little children in our ward and Shae had a blast running around with her buddies and friends. It was so nice that Shae could run and go play and Brian and I could sit and visit with our friends and neighbors!

They had a pinata for the kids to break open. That was weird seeing Spider Man in the middle of the forest. Hats off to Becky for being creative in trying to keep the children entertained!

Brian and Shae chilling around the camp grounds!

Shaeler had a wonderful time playing and camping in the woods. One thing that I will not forget was the horror look in mine and Brian's faces when we realized that we had forgotten a pull up for the night. I went around to each neighbor to see if anyone had one to spare and we luckily found one! Phew!

Brother White brought glow in the dark bracelets which were a huge hit with all of the children. Shaeler would not let her bracelets down, even after they died the following day.

I really enjoy going to the Ward Campouts. I know that the Activities Committee puts a lot of work and effort into it and I am so thankful for the opportunity to spend time with our ward and as a family! Happy Camping Everyone!

Glad you had fun. We'll have to get the "parents" trailers together and go sometime!

How did the Jello turn out?
We havent had a ward campout for a long time. I loved them when I was little though!

It sounds like fun, we were sad that we had to miss it. Spencer's sister went through the temple for the first time and we felt like that was just a little bit more important!! We'll be there next year.

OK so I PROMISE I haven't been ignoring you, I have honestly been looking for the origins of the picture you posted last week. Sadly, nothing. I don't know what it's called or who did it, but it's really beautiful! I wanted to leave a comment about that blog as well:

One of the most humbling experiences of my life was when I attended my great uncle Keith's funeral. He and I had always been very close, and he was a very righteous and honorable man. He served in several prominent church callings, including Stake Patriarch (he gave me my patriarchal blessing), and touched MANY people's lives. It was incredible to see the Stake center in San Diego overflowing with friends, family and well-wishers at his funeral, and made me proud to be a Tenney. He served his entire life, and I hope that someday I can even come close to making the impact that he had.

Anyways, now that I got that off my chest. I am really enjoying Shannon Hale too, and I'm wondering if you have read Rapunzel's Revenge yet? My sister-in-law is going to loan me a copy of Austenland, so hopefully that will be the next book on my reading list. Keep em coming!

Ann,

The salad went as quickly as I brought it in. Apparently they all knew the salad and devoured it. Everyone said it tasted great! I just chuckled a little and crossed my fingers!

Megan,

Thanks so much for the comment. That was really endearing and I really appreciate you sharing that with me. It is people like that that I cherish the most. It seems to have taken me this long to figure that out and almost all of my elders have passed on. Thanks for also looking on that picture. I will continue to look myself, I would love to have that print in my home. I am so glad you like Hale too! You have to read Austen land if you like Austen. I couldn't stop laughing. The Ordinary Princess is on my list and I cannot wait to get going! Thank you for being my blog friend, I have really enjoyed coming and reading your sight. You are a very inspirational girl!

We haven't had a ward campout for a couple of years. We usually do a ward boating trip instead with an extra party thrown in the mix. It looks and sounds like you guys had fun though and I'm glad your salad turned out.

How fun~ I don't think I've ever been in a ward that does a campout or anything of the sort. I'm looking forward to a good camping trip this weekend!
