Proc Week: Day 1!

Being that is is the week of "LOVE", I thought that I would discuss the people I LOVE the most: My Family. When I think of the family unit, the first thing that pops in my mind is The Family: A Proclamation to the World. The Proclamation was given by President Gordon B Hinckley in 1995 and is a timeless piece of work. We cherish the loving words so much, we have hung it next to our family picture in our family room. This week, I would like to highlight the parts of the Proclamation that stick out in my mind the most and apply it to my little family here. So here we go:

Day 1

"All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny."

Abraham 3:22

"Now the Lord had shown unto me, Abraham, the intelligences that were organized before the world was; and among all these there were many of the noble and great ones;"

Way to not fall into Hallmark's trap of making some quarterly cash! I love this idea!!! Actually, I was reading the one hanging up in our family room just today.

I love your sweet family picture! Isn't it nice to think that we were once noble and great? Hope I can live up to the hype! :)

P.S. Just wanted to say "Thanks" for all the great comments on my blogs - I can't believe I forgot Breakfast at Tiffany's?! It's one of my very favorites. Where is my head?

Also, just wanted to give you a heads-up on Iron Jawed Angels...there is a racy bathtub scene which is totally unnecessary, but totally "Hollywood". I hope it doesn't deter you from seeing the rest of the film, but I thought you should know all the same. See you next week! Muaah!

Hi Suzanne! This Ann's friend Tierra and I must admit I've been a lurker here. You have such a sweet blog and I can see such compassion for your family.

This is a wonderful thing to highlight the proclamation and be such a good example to our church. Great Idea!

Like Monica said, it's been too long since I've read it so this is so neat to come here and read.
