Every Nook and Cranny!

There are times in my life that I just have a need to really clean something or change things around in my living quarters.
I like change and I like order.
My home, even though we do not have much, can become quite cluttered in a matter of minutes. Usually every Friday I clean things up and by Friday evening its a mess again.
The last few weeks, our house has been horrendous! To the point that I could see that it was affecting our behavior and how we were treating each other.
So for the last few days, I have been cleaning out closets, bedrooms, linen closets, drawers, under beds, filing cabinets, video storage, and rearranging furniture. I have made it through the first half of my home of cleaning carpets, base board and dust on the fans. I have thrown away 3 bags of garbage, and taking note of bins I will need for storage in my basement.
Next on my list is the kitchen, my bedroom and closet, the laundry room and mud room and then the garage. Hopefully this will be done by Friday so I can tackle the basement Friday and Saturday.
I really enjoy deep cleaning like this. It is very theraputic and the house has a much better spirit about it. My hopes is that we will be prepared for the holiday season and perhaps splash a little paint on the walls. A girl can dream!

UUmmmm, don't step foot in my house, it must be possessed by demons at this point! afterthought, do step in my house, dressed as the dust bunny buster.

your good housekeeper skills have totally passed on to your daughter. she gets on bayli's case every time she comes over. "bayli, your room is a mess!"
i love it! bayli often cleans her room after their play dates. "mom, shae was right. my room is a mess."
sometimes i here them chatting that instead of playing they are going to clean her room.
i don't know what they did after i left for work last night. but bayli's room looks less disastrous today. either shae helped her, or jed made threats. both very effective.

I am with you. I used to be so organized and then my older kids moved out and left all this "Stuff" and I realized I have been trying to find places for my stuff around their stinkin' stuff and they don't even live here. How does that work?
Oh hallelujah for order!!

I also totally agree that it affect moods :D
