My Only Complaint, I was freezing cold!

 My dearest friend,

We are back from our St. George weekend.  Brian and his company needed to complete 16 hours of continuing education for their licenses, so they decided to head South to knock it out in 2 days.  I love St. George as it has always had a special place in my heart and was looking forward to a nice warm weekend when Salt Lake would be in the 30's.

While the men were at class, the women played.  Some of the activities that Shae, Joyce and I experienced were:

1. Swimming in the pool.

2.  Shopping at the mall and outlet stores.

3.  Eating out for lunch.

4.  Buying apples and chocolate at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

5. Napping.

When the men returned home, we went out to nice dinners as a company and then Brian and I would head back to the hotel for bed.   Well, the first night Shae talked Brian into going swimming.  Here are a few pictures from that:

I, of course, LOVE the shopping.  I wanted to get some Christmas shopping done, but have no clue what to get anyone.  So instead, I bought a few things for Shae and I.  I believe I have an obsession with accessories right now.  I bought a shirt, a necklace, a scarf, two flower pins and Shae a skirt.  I also bought a new pair of jeans which totally made my day because they were a size smaller.  Hard work is paying off in the small things, ya know?

I chuckle when I look at that scarf.  When my boss took me shopping last year and I went back to exchange a few things, the sales agent tried to get me to buy a scarf very similar to this ruffly pink one.  I didn't buy it at the time because a.  I felt like a clown in it and b. it was $40 for the thing.  No, thank you!

Now, I have a scarf very similar with little pink balls on it and it only cost me $11.99.  Yeah, thats right, I saved 28 buckaroos.  Eat that Ann Taylor sales lady! Ha!

We really enjoyed our trip to St. George.  My only complaint was that it was 60 degrees down there, but it felt like 30 degrees to me.  I was freezing the whole time.  Our room heater would not work and I would dread getting out of bed because the chill factor was unbearable.  We cranked the thermostat up to 85 and we still froze.  Kind of disheartening!  That's alright, we found a new love that made us forget our woe's at the Nelsen's Frozen Custard stand.  Two words:  Strawberry Concrete!

It was to die for!  We went back the second night to get another one because we knew it would be months before we tasted such celestial glory of all yumminess!  Yup, I just made that word up!

I am chuckling right now that I solved my freezing woes with ice cream.  Oh, the irony of it all.  Thank goodness for rice bags and the microwave.  We have a new found friendship.  Now if I can microwave my rice bag at church and wear a snuggie to Relief Society, my chilliness woes would be over.  Ah, a girl can dream right?

Always loyal and true,

Suzanne

Suzanne,
The Frozen Custard on 13th East & approx 39th South is (was) owned by one of my favorite high school teachers. I took you there when you were little. You also loved eating concretes when I worked at a lawfirm at the crossroads mall. Sorry you don't remember enjoying them, but I do. Yum....
