The Fruits of Labor!

The Adoption Pictures are DONE!! (Hopefully!)

~I have been off my blogging rhythem because I have been working really hard this week to finish our adoption colage and our birthmother letter. This is probably the most stressful part of all the paper work.

I took Brian over to Roberts to help me pick out paper and that in itself was one adventure. I ran into an old neighbor from our previous house and asked her if she has ever done scrap booking because I needed help. I have never scrapbooked in my life. She asked me what I was up to and I told her that I was making our colage to adopt a baby. Her eyes got teary and she proceeded to tell me her daughter gave up a baby boy a year and a half ago for adoption. She said that it was a very neat experience and said that her daughter chose her family solely because of the picture colage.

Oh great!! Now the pressure is on to want to have a really incredible page. So, Brian and I settled on paper and then I panicked when we got home. I have no idea what I am doing and I have no tools to do this. I called my friend Jen and left a message begging her to help me.

So today, I got online and found some layouts that were for multiple pages. Apparently scrapbookers these days only like to do 2-3 pictures on a page. Our Social Worker told us 4-6 pictures is what we needed on our page. With an idea of what to do, Jen called me today and I booked it over there for her help. She did a great job and gave me a solid foundation for my pages.

I came home and tweaked it to what I liked and here are the fruits of my labors.

I am completely open to any suggestions if you see anything I could do to improve this. I have a day to make any changes that I feel are necessary, so bring it on!

Wow Suz, just Wow. You don't need to stress at all, you did an excellent job. I am currently wiping back tears as I type this, that is how great of a job you did on your collage.

I would adopt this family in a heart beat! I am especially interested in the small one. (just kidding) This is awesome. Are you interested in adopting an adorable 55 year old female that has (slight) mood swings? (not just kidding, ha, ha) I think your next problem will be buying another car seat and new bedroom furniture. I love the whole thing.

Looks very nice Suzie! Don't stress, you sold me. By the way, Jake and I have some really good friends in Utah right now also trying to adopt. I'm sure you already have several couples you can share experiences with, but if you want yet another I have link to their blog on my blog listed under the McOmbers. I am praying for a little one to come your way.

Great first time scrapping! See.. You can do almost anything! :)

I think even more than the cutness of the pictures, the spirit of Love that is shown through the pictures, will be what they see and will feel. I'm sure the Lord will bless you with your righteous desires, because you are so faithful and diligent in serving him.. It will happen when the time is right!
