What a Weekend!

Well we had a crazy busy weekend! I haven't been able to catch my breath since last Wednesday. Since finishing our collage, I had crazy stress trying to get everything printed out and copied. I almost had a melt down with my printer on Thursday night. Then on Friday, I ran around like crazy until we started our adoption classes on Friday night. That in itself was AWESOME!! I really enjoyed hearing from all of the different parties of the adoptive parents, the birthmothers and adult adoptee's. My eyes have been opened to a new world and all I can say is that anyone that is involved with the adoption world is incredible.

One part I really liked was that they had a table set up in the back that displayed different birthmother gifts to give to the birthmother either during the process of placement and gifts for after the baby was placed.

This is a Buddy Bear. The adoptive mother buys 2 bears and takes prictures of the bears together doing crazy things. When the baby comes, 1 bear goes to the birth mother and the other bear is the baby's. Throughout the childhood, the baby has its pictures taken with the bear and the mother is sent the picture so she can not only see the baby, but also have a bear with her to feel a connection. Too cute!

This is the other gift I really liked. The adoptive parents can give baskets. 1 basket can be all of the adoptive parents favorite things. This way the birthmother can get to know the family a little bit better. Another basket was a 1 year basket of the baby. All of the babies favorite things at the time such as food, toys, videos, etc.

Our adoption class was all day Saturday and once we finished we were exhausted. We ate dinner, came home, and then Brian went to bed at 6:00 pm. He was out!

We awoke to our busy Sunday as usual. Except this Sunday, we were jammed packed in the evening. Church is from 1-4 for us, so once church was done, we ran over to Shauna's for a birthday party. Here are some of the pictures that I took of the kids breaking the pinata.

Brian and I had to leave the party early so we could go to a Trek Fireside where Newell Daily (the man who wrote "Faith in Every Footstep" and I Feel My Saviors Love") spoke to us. It was a really great fireside and I just get more and more excited for Trek.

We came home, picked up Shaeler from the birthday party and I went home pooped out. Shaeler fell asleep early because she did not get a nap and Brian actually stayed up late stressing about a talk he has to give in church next week. (Ah, Ha!) So that was my crazy weekend in a nut shell! Hope everyone has a great week.

I've never heard about the teddy bear thing. I know about the baskets though. If you need ideas, you can always ask. I saw lots of neat things. Anyways, I'm glad you had a good, but busy weekend.

Sure, and I made you get up and get your daughter ready for portraits this morning after all that! Thanks again so much for your help. Look for a peek on the blog coming soon.
