Buy this Book Now!!!!!

Ok, so now I am obsessed with Shannon Hale. I know, I am sick and I need help. But I am truly enchanted with this woman's writings.

I took Shaeler to the store to get her birthday present that Aunt Babe bought, and knew I could pick up the Princess Academy while I was there.

Before I went, I had spoken with Caroline and she mentioned that she really liked "Austenland" which is one of Hale's books in the regular fiction section and not teen section of the book store. So I figured since I was there, I will pick up both books.

I chose to read Austenland first to break up a little of the princess stories and man I am so glad I did!

I Loved, Loved, LOVED this book. Not just because I am an Jane Austen fan, but this was an awesome love story that was so fresh and creative. The plot is about a girl who is sent to England for 3 weeks to live at a resort and relive the Jane Austen era. Her dying Aunt sent her on this quest to get her obsession with Mr Darcy (also Collin Firth) out of her system. It was like a dream come true to want to live through Elizabeth Bennett but you live it through it through a character who is reliving it! Brilliant, I tell you!
So, if you loved the makeout scenes in Twilight, you are going to love the clean "lovin" in this book. The main character is so witty that there are countless lines that are classics in this book.
Go buy this book TODAY!! I am telling you, your weekend will be much happier if you do!
Trust me!
Now on to Princess Academy!

Man, you guys are going to turn me into a reader! So, which one do I read first? I am almost thinking this one, just because you compared it to twilight.
I REALLY aprreciate your reviews!

I just finnished this book a few weeks ago. It was the first of her books I've read and I just randomly grabbed it at the library. I kind-of had a bit of a hard time getting into it (probably since I haven't read much Jane Austen) but I ended up liking it in the end.

I mentioned to my sister-in-law a while ago that I was trying to find some really good teen fiction. She is a 5th grade school teacher, so I figured she knew what the kids liked. (She recommended "Stargirl" to me as well).

She gave me a copy of "Book of a Thousand Days" by Shannon Hale, and I absolutely LOVED it. On a whim I picked up "Goose Girl" at the library, and it's now on my list of all-time favorites. I still need to read the "Princess Academy" books, and "Austenland" has definitely been on my radar, but I feel like I have a lot of other books to get through first. Maybe I'll bump it up to the top?

In short: Shannon Hale has definitely become a recent favorite author!

I am also re-reading a beloved childhood favorite "The Ordinary Princess" by M.M. Kaye. If you liked "Goose Girl" PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do yourself a favor and read "Ordinary Princess". I know you will love it as much as I do (I will most likely do a review of some of these on Cupcake Chowder soon). Yeah for good books!

Also...you need to join Goodreads! It's the best way to see what all of your friends are reading, and what they liked/disliked! I do reviews of ALL of the books I read on there...
