Laura's Legacy!

May I just share that it is a complete honor when the General Young Women's Board asks you to create a poster to be displayed in the Relief Society building in downtown Salt Lake City.
It will be on display for anyone meaning, dignitaries, other Young Women Leaders, maybe the Prophet can gaze upon the work and ideas that have been happening in your little corner of the church.

But when they ask for 2 posters? The best way to describe it is

overwhelming.

The presidency then had to split up into 2 teams to tackle the large projects and Kristen and I had the opportunity to create a poster to tell Laura's story. Do you remember Laura? If you need a refresher, click here. Caroline and Becky were to take on the poster that explains our Young Women in Excellence theme from last year.

For 3 1/2 months I have been agonizing on how we were going to create a board that would give justice and the full recognition to what happened with Laura.
The pressure was on. By mid February, we decided as a presidency to just set a date with completing both posters to stop agonizing and just get to work.

We all had lots of ideas and thoughts to the design and layouts but now with a deadline, the work had to be completed.

Below is Laura's poster. I give the majority of the credit of the poster to Kristen. I painted on the white frilly stuff and typed the verbage. The rest was Kristen and she did a magnificent job.

I hope Laura and her family will like the poster, because for me I am feeling relieved like I just birthed a child and it is over. Poor Kristen still has 2 more weeks to get her baby out (literally!)

I don't have a picture to show you of the second poster, but I have seen it and it is just as wonderful. What an awesome group of women that I have the privilege of working with.

That brought tears to my eyes. What a tremendous project - the best kind of service!
To be a part of something so personal and so important is a "lifetime" experience.

The poster turned out just beautiful and I am sure it will touch all of those who read it as it did my own heart:D

That would be a lot of work and stress. But it looks wonderful! How cool that you were able to be apart if it.
