Attitude of Gratitude!

Hello to my blog world friends! How are you? Hope your mothers day was wonderful!

I have had really strong feelings to do a gratitude post lately and so without further ado, here we go:

1. I am thankful for the mothers in my life!
My Mom: I am thankful for my mother. She is a wonderful woman and she has a very giving heart. She is one of the most charitable woman I know, she would give you the shirt off of her back (well, at least the money for a new one). She adores Shaeler and spoils the child rotten. She loves to whisk Shae away down to grandma's house with the pool and is always asking when's the next time she can come down. She loves to call and talk on the phone with Shae and we love grandma suri with her calls and visits.

My Mother-in-law: I am thankful for my mother in Law. How lucky I am to have such a wonderful mother in law. She is absolutely the best mother in law I could ask for. She is my right hand with Shae. She is always willing to help me with my schedule and watching Shae. Truly we are spoiled rotten that she is our regular Saturday night babysitter. (Yeah, I know! We are spoiled!) She is always fixing meals and offering a plate when I stop by. She sometimes gets me small treats like Reissen in the pantry or a frozen ding dong in the freezer door. She loves to share with me her new shopping finds and truly I am thankful to have her part of my life.

My Mother Lou: Mother Lou is a very special woman for me. She is one of my biggest supporters of my life. She has taught me so much and I love talking with her and giggling about our life's journies. She is a beautiful woman inside and out! Truly a woman of God. Lou is the only person I know that can tell you all the terrible things that are going on her life and still have a smile on her face. I love ya Lou! Moo!

2. I am grateful for my husband and daughter.
How lucky I am to have a terrific family. Shae is now getting to the age where she is growing out of the age of defiance into the age of being my biggest helper. When I was away to BYU, she showed dad the ropes on cleaning the house, so when I got home it would be clean. Dad did do most of the work, but she can clean a toilet like nobodies business. I am blessed because of Brian. He is the absolute best thing in my life. I love him and that love grows deeper everyday. Shaeler brings me great joy. I love to watch her sing and dance on top of the picnic table or when she tries to do neat tricks off of my couch. Valient souls that I have been blessed with and humbled that they belong to me.

3. I am grateful for the Young Women and Young Women Leaders of my ward.
Words cannot express the love and appreciation I have for these ladies. God blessed me with 27 daughters that are the most phenominal spirits I have ever met. I see only the best in them and their potential and how lucky I am that I worked with young women who are obedient, humble and motivating. We have done some amazing things in a short amount of time, and it is because of them. I hope Shae grows up to be just like each and everyone of them. I am also grateful for the Young Women leaders that I had the priveldge working side by side with. We put our shoulders to the wheel and pulled along. We had our ups and downs and all in all, I regret nothing. All of you taught me something that has made me a better person, and I will always be grateful for those lessons. You are all beautiful woman, and I can honestly say to each of you that I love you! The winds of change will send us our different ways from here, however, we are all bound by these last 2 years of unforgettable experiences. Onward and Upward!

4. I am grateful for Spring!
I love Spring! I love it, love it, love it! Nothing beats the warm shiny day just after the grey cold days of winter. I love the flowers and the smell of lilac in the air. I love the blossoms on the trees and the petal showers when the wind blows. I love getting my hands (with gloves) in the dirt and planting a new seed in hopes that something wonderful and productive will come forth. I love the smell of fresh cut lawns. I love sitting out on the porch and just being. I love to see the new baby animals and I love everything about spring. I love the long nights and the excitement of summer just around the corner. This is my favorite time of year and I am happy as a lark!

5. I am grateful for my friends.
For the girl who thinks she can claim to be the world's lonilest person, God abundantly showed her that she is surrounded by wonderful friends and family. I received the sweetest note yesterday from a friend in the ward who I am not very close with, but she lovingly shared with me her concerns and love. Thank you Julie! You made my day! Another friends loss brought a group of us closer together and I am thankful that we can be there to share all the moments of our lives. From baby blessings, baptisms, birthdays, deaths, bad days and just because I owe you dinner, come over to my house. Young women who like to just hang out and watch movies or bring by mint brownies because she loves me, that is what friendships are all about. There are some noble and great people here in this world and I am lucky enough to be surrounded by them.

Thank you for the beautiful thoughts. I can't wait to wisk Shaeler here again. I think this is the most excited Robert has ever been about planning a birthday party. He and Morgan love Shaeler so much. When she comes, it is like Christmas for a week for everyone here. He has something special planned for every day. Bowling, the park, a movie, swimming, Peter Piper Pizza and who knows what else. I can't wait to see everyone soon.

I hope Grandma's party was fun.

Suzanne, this was really sweet to read. Mothers are a wonderful thing and with spring and the flowers...everything is like a
re-newal.

You must be a wonderful YW leader. Oh how important they are. I'm still close to all of mine and I'm sure you put your whole self into the program.

Great post! Hope everything is well and have a good weekend!
