Change is Good!

Well, May has been an extremely busy month and I have missed the blogging world.

This has been a month of changes. Which at first, you resist and want to stay with the old comfortable ways, but when you look back, change is good.

I was talking with Brian before I started this post and asked him what major changes he saw in our lives and the only thing he graced me with was "I thought you quit blogging!"

Haha! Very funny!

So, to catch everyone up, here are the chiasmus of changes that have happened in my life.

1. We changed the color of our timbered entry.
Brian spent a couple of days sanding and restaining our front timber. We chose a darker color and I absolutely LOVE it! It has more of a browner tone and it really brings out the brown in the brick. I LOVE my front door. I took down the garland that was around my door way and I am now on the hunt for a really sweet wreath to hang on my front door.

2. I planted my garden in a new design. This was a huge change to the way I have gardened over the past couple of years. Brian came home and thought I had gone insane. I received the inspiration from the garden you can see from Hogle Zoo over by the giraffes. Apparently, the guy is a world class gardener and knows what he is doing. So I followed his gardening techniques and I love it. I have working space to walk around the garden and the watering is so much easier. The weeds are still out of control, but if I stay on top of it once a week, it is extremely manageable. The idea is to plant close together and densely to produce a lot of crop. I will keep you posted on how it goes.

3. My new calling. Today, I was released as being the young women president of my ward. This releasement came because of my new calling as 1st Counselor in the Stake YW Presidency. It has been a whirlwind of emotions and now with everything being final and not having to pull double duty anymore, I feel that I can finally breathe and be still. I cannot express the love I have for the young women of my ward, however, God wants me to expound my love for 250 girls and I have every intention to give them all of my best. I can say that this has been extremely hard and not the easiest transition, but I know that this is for my progress and my growth.
4. My yard is finally shaping up. Brian and I have been working our rear ends off trying to get the yard back in shape. I was finally able to get flowers in my beds and this change I have been waiting for for 3 years. I cannot wait for the colors to blossom and bloom and to be able and sit outside on the summer nights and enjoy the beauty all around. I like changing the environment around me, as I enjoy the change and new scenery.

Well, that is all for now.
Change is good!
Change is Good!
Change is GREAT!

I can't wait to talk with you about it. I have been thinking of you..

How fun with your new garden!
It's funny that you were inspired by the Hogle Zoo garden. I always look at it whenever we are over by the Giraffe's. You'll have to let us know if it works or not. :)

Good job in the yard. :) Tell Brian the Pillars look great!

I love the trim. He did a fabulous job!

I am going to have to plant a garden like that when we get a house. Looks logical.

How exciting to be in the Stake YW. I am sure you will miss your ward girls but they are still yours.

You have a beautiful yard. Good job!

I'm sure it's hard for you to leave the comfort of your ward YW, but what a compliment to all your hard work to become a Stake YW conselor. That's awesome! You'll do a fantastic job.

And I love the changes to your house. The pillars, the garden, the flowers. You truly have a gorgeous house.

I'm glad you are back! How fun that you get to stay in YW, it's a change, but still a bit of the same.

Your house and yard look great, way to go! You'll have to let me know how the garden works out, we may have to try it next year when we get our garden started!

WOW! Your house and yard look just incredible! I am so envious of projects being finished. This is Nick's busy time so we won't be getting much done in the next few months. I just feel grateful when the lawn gets mowed! We did get our garden planted too...it's just in the shabby stage right now.

Keep up the good work!
