What Not To Wear!

One of my favorite TV shows to watch while I am working out is

"What Not To Wear"

I LOVE that show! I love watching Stacy and Clinton show women how to bring color, figure fitting, not looking like a bumb look to women and men all over the world. I don't have cable at my house, so this little show is like eye candy to me.
Sometimes I would day dream that they would come and raid my closet. Chuck my old stuff in the garbage can and throw me into the 360 degree mirror and ask "what were you thinking?"
Humbly I would tell them that do to my beliefs in not having debt or using a credit card, my shopping sprees are very limited. Alas, they would hand over their VISA with $5000. 00 and tell me that I had some shopping to do.
In all honesty, the new clothes would be nice. HOWEVER, the greatest value to me would be the advice they would give on what colors, styles, cuts that I need for my body type. You know the saying "give a man a fish, he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish, he will eat for a lifetime."
This is how I feel about clothing. "Find a cute article of clothing, look good for a day, teach a girl how to shop - nicely dressed for a life time."
I just want the ADVICE here!
One day, while browsing CJanes blogsite, I noticed her talking about her friend that made her a book on telling her what to wear, her best colors and cuts, etc etc.
Instantly, I knew that I found my small hope that maybe someone could help me on a price that I could afford. So, I got on the girls website, bought the book and filled out a questionnaire about me, my body shape and my lifestyle.
Yesterday, after a gloomy rainy day, a ray of sunshine hit me as I opened my mail box to see that my personalized fashion book had arrived!
ARRIVED!!

Inside are explanations of my body type and what things to wear and what things not to wear. How to find balance with my pear shaped body and what colors would look best in me. She completely nailed that I am very traditional and respected my frugal ways by encouraging me to buy classic pieces. There is a list of what items I need in my closet and what styles to look for.
THIS BOOK IS GLORIOUS!! I love it and it is my own Stacy and Clinton in my purse. It is small enough to take with you when you shop because it is accordian style.
I am happy as a lark over here!! Now I just need to start a new budget of "Suzanne's wardrobe"and get Brian on board. Oy Vey! This could take a while!

That is SO COOL! I can't wait to see the book in real life. Let's go shopping! I'm not buying anything, but I can help you spend your money. :)

Everytime I watch What not to Wear, I think the same thing. I just need to know what works for me! I've wanted to shop with Alicia from Chic on a shoestring (good things utah) too. Just so I know what really works for me.... someday! Maybe that should be my reward when I reach my goal weight??? I think it just may be!

Thanks for sharing the magic book, I love it!

This is COOL! I remember being in YW and getting my
"colors" done and finding out I'm a WINTER. I always loved that lesson...activity, whatever. Same thing here. It's so great to figure out what works for you. I love clothes shopping more than I should admit...it's sort of an obsession I have. But hey...it's who I am. I think you can find cute stuff just about ANYWHERE that's my motto. So, budget or not, you should be able to have a dynamite do-over with even a little cash! Good luck.....fun!
