What a Weekend!

I had multiple thoughts running across my brain this last weekend, but if you know me well, I usually have a theme song for whatever is going on in my life.
For this last weekend, the song "I had the time of my life!" kept playing over and over in my head. I am truly blessed for the amazing experiences I had the last four days. It began on Wednesday afternoon when I received a mysterious note on my front door that said "Thursday, 6:00 pm, Be Prepared!" with cut out letters from a magazine. I giggled, cried and smiled the whole day and that was just the beginning.
(Side note: a certain person who shall remain unnamed promised to send me pictures of the events below and did not. Therefore, I was forced to steal. Punk!)

Thursday: A suprise party!

(Kristen, Christy, Georgia, Roxann, Stephanie, Me, Becky, Hailey and Renee)

At 6:00 pm, a group of fabulous women showed up at my door to take me to dinner and ice cream. You can get full details from the Kristen's website here.

This is what I want to say about the evening. As I sat at the table of all of these wonderful women, I was truly inspired by the company I was in. These are all women who not only do I adore and love, but are also shining examples to me and women I want to inspire to become like. You know when you get asked that question: "If you could go to lunch with anybody in the world, who would you go with?" Well, I got to go to dinner with them and it was Cloud Nine for me. Thank you to the women that took a night to come and celebrate with me. It was truly a dream come true for me!

Friday: Logan Temple

Well other than a crappy morning with my hair dresser (which BTW, I am done with him! I have broken up and will not return. Looking for any recommendations!) We were invited to attend the Logan Temple with the Bowlers. Again, full details you can read about on Kristen's blogsite, here. I had so much fun hanging with Shayn and Kristen. We delivered chickens, we saw Astle Chiropractor, and we talked and talked and talked. We are so lucky to have friends like the Bowlers in our lives. Temple runs are the BEST!

Saturday: My birthday!

Saturday was my actual birthday. Brian went on an early morning bike ride and was so great to set the alarm on my phone for 6:55 am to go off to tell me Happy Birthday. Let me tell you how pumped I was that I didn't get to sleep in. It was a wonderful, relaxing day. I worked out, I went grocery shopping, we went to Cafe Rio for lunch and then I went to the Stake Center to do Leadership training at 4:00 and then the adult session at 7:00. Can I just tell you I have never laughed so hard in a church meeting than when we had to do a mock ward council in front of the entire congregation and Brother R who was representing the Ward Mission Leader said they had confirmed the baptismal date of Sister Smith on her 95th Birthday. AND she had requested that her father baptize her. I could not look up, I was laughing so hard, and we were up on the stand in front of everyone!

So, why the picture of the suit? Well, I bought that suit for my birthday to wear that night. I LOVE IT!!

Sunday: Stake Conference!
Sunday we had Stake Conference and yours truly was asked to speak. I had 4 weeks to prepare and given no assigned topic. This definately pushed me to grow. I worked so hard and did the best that I could to prepare. Again, the suit above is what I bought with some of the birthday money I had been given. I LOVE this suit too! I am stuck in that age that I feel too old for some clothes and too young for others. I have always been a classy/classic look type of girl and these suits are definately what I love.

The talk I gave was titled: The Crowing Reflection Within You! I worked hard to memorize it so that I could stay in eye contact with the congregation the entire 7 minutes and 46 seconds of my talk. I was so nervous! My legs were shaking so bad, I had to brace myself with the podium. All in all, I am so glad it is over. I slept for 3 hours afterwards, and was just exhausted last night.

So, there you have it! A fabulous weekend and I am truly so grateful for the experiences that I had. I am so blessed by the people around me and I am grateful for the many birthday wishes!

Bah! I am not a punk! Okay..maybe. There are too many pictures to e-mail to you. I burned them to a cd. If I bring it to you tomorrow do I lose punk status? Although...maybe I kind of like it. Hmmm....
