Thanksgiving 2010

My dear friend,

Here we are at the tail end of the Thanksgiving weekend.  The cat is out of the bag, that it is my least favorite holiday of the year.  There, I said it, let it be known.  On a positive note, our Thanksgiving weekend has been most joyous and much to be grateful for this year.  First that everyone is alive and breathing, that makes the top of my list.  Pretty much everything after that is gravy.  But I do have much exciting news to share in that Brian bought me a  Thanksgiving present.

Wait for it..........................................drum roll..........................................................................

A NEW CHRISTMAS TREE!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Nothing beats the phone call to meet him at the store and pick out the tree that I would like.  Hooray!  We bought a 7.5', pre-lit 900 bulb Fontaine Fir.  PRE-LIT!!  That in itself makes me tear up a bit.  Hold on, I have to get a tissue.

My decorations are improving, but my tree is glorious and I put it right in front of the front door for all to see.  Shaeler went nuts decorating this year.  We couldn't help but laugh as she decorated most of our ornaments in one section of the tree.  I have been slowly placing them all over the tree so she will not notice.

Decorations were all up before Thanksgiving day and that was a first for our house.  Thanksgiving was really wonderful this year.  We woke up early, worked out, spent time together as a family, prepared our salad assignment and then headed out the door to pick up my dad and head to Erda for Thanksgiving dinner with my dad's side of the family.

Friday we spent the day together as a family and decided to let Shaeler choose whatever she wanted to do for the day.  So we went and saw this movie:

LOVED IT!!  I am dying to see it again.

We ate at La Luna and then bought groceries to make breakfast for everyone the following morning.

Saturday, I made my dad's pull a part bread (which has quite a reputation now) and Brian made mountain man breakfast for all of the Rentmeister family.  I snuck out to go work out, only to leave early feeling very ill. I spent all day Saturday in bed as my stomach and guts felt like they were doing the twist/tango/extreme pain dance. It later became the chills and body aches.

Today I have felt a lot better, but am extremely tired.  So, I had a nap after church and I am feeling a ton better.  Good times!

In the middle of all of this Thanksgiving partying, we have been enduring the cold and snow storms like no other.  Average temperature was 13 degrees and the snow storms have been CRAZY!  Do you remember that year that it started to snow in September and it snowed all the way to June?  Why do I have a weird feeling that this year is going to be all crazy with the weather much like that?  I don't know, but I am glad that Brian did not have to work outside in the 13 degrees last week. I just fear that January could be a very cold month this next year and I always feel bad for Brian and his guys to have to work out in it.

Well, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.  Again, I want to wish my parents a Happy Birthday and please know we love you guys!

Always loyal and true,

Suzanne

SOOOOO jealous of your new gift! We are still displaying good old Charlie Brown-I know that you have seen him. We don't even bother getting new lovely decorations, good choice since Bayli and Chase completely decorated our sad little tree. I totally understand your desire to rearrange the ornaments, but not having the heart because it is also so very cute to have a few large groupings.
