My Review: Tuesdays with Morrie

I first read this book back in 2000 and I had remembered that I really liked it. I had lent the book to a friend of mine in the neighborhood and she finally returned it to me a week and a half ago after having it for 2 years. Muuahhh hahahaha! That just makes me laugh!! Hats off to her for finally doing it!! I have no idea if she even read it!
So with the book fresh in my hands, I decided to reread it, and with a memory like mine, it was like reading it again, for the first time.
First of all, I really love older people. I find them a complete treasure to be around. I love to hear their stories, their words of wisdom and the perceptions on life. So I instantly fell in love with this book.
Mitch Albom is a writer that decides to go back and visit an old college professor after seeing that he was dying in an interview with Ted Koppell. Morrie meets with Mitch and shares with him his wisdom on love, death, money, work, family, spirituality and everything else that is really important in this life. I loved this book because it made me stop and take a look at my own life and really determine what is or is not important to me. One of my favorite lines is when Morrie tells Mitch that what everything comes down to and what is the most important thing is this world is love.
After reading this book, it makes me want to hug people and hold their hands. It makes me want to slow down and appreciate my health, my life and my independence. Really what I would love to do is sit down with the treasures I have in my own life and record the pearls of wisdom that they can share with me. I truly believe that it would be priceless.
Please read Tuesday's with Morrie. It is a short easy read and it is soul searching. Hey you can borrow mine for 2 years if you like, I am not due to read it again for another 9 years. hahaha!

I have heard nothing but good things about this book!
I want to borrow it, but I'd better read the 2 I have of yours so I don't have them for 2 years huh?

I love your new perspective! and I adore older people too! Who else would do DUP at my age.. Not many!

I read this book a couple of years ago. I really liked it too. It was one of those short and sweet books that really make you think about life. 5 People You Meet In Heaven is like that too.

Ann,

I don't know if I confessed this to you or not yet, but I too am part of the DUP. Love them!

I've always heard people talk about this book but I've never read it myself. Maybe I'll have to pick up a copy and read it on the plane tomorrow!

I told you the Five People You Meet in Heaven is so good. It's not about religion, it's about people and their interractions. I will buy this book for you. You will love it too.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I have read all of Mitch Albom's books, but this is by far his best. I laughed and cried, and found a lot of really great insight and comfort from Mr. Morrie. Another great book review! Thanks for sharing.

The book is on it's way and also a surprise for Shaeler. I couldn't resist. Expect both around February 2.

BTW what are you and Ann talking about DUP? Duplicate book reading? Remember I am old now and not as quick as I used to be. Was I ever quick? I forget.

Hey Mom!!

DUP stands for Daughters of Utah Pioneers. The majority of the daughters are probably much older than Ann and I, but I love the association and what they do.
