One Word for 2009

My friend Kristen did this and I've seen the concept of "One Little Word" on Ali Edwards' blog which is an amazing blog about organization . She is a scrapbooker/artist/amazing crafty person. The basic idea is to choose one word that sums up what you want for yourself in the coming year. I have been very aggressive in my goal setting this year and there are many changes that I want to see happen in my life. I have been pondering quite a while trying to figure out what one word could sum it up. Tonight as Brian and I were talking and he showed me a scipture, the word jumped out to my like a flashing marquee. The word I've chosen for 2009 is:
Conquer
That word had a footnote at the bottom of the page and it had the word "Self-Mastery" as another definition for the word conquer. This is what I want for 2009 for myself.
I want to conquer everything that I want to achieve for this year and it will take discipline and self mastery. When I think of the words self mastery I always think about the Spirit taking control of the body, taking control of the thought process, taking me to a higher level of spirituality. What an amazing thing to obtain. So if you see the word conquer surrounding me, don't think that I am aggressively trying to take somebody's property. I am working on mastering me and conquering my dreams.
What is your One Word for 2009?

That word IS totally you.
Mine would have to be Happiness.
That's pretty much all I want for 2009. :) Love the one word thing...

My one word would have to be

SURVIVE.

If I can do that this year, I'll be off to a good start next year.

I am with Ann. If I can achieve Happiness for most of the coming year then I think I will have achieved a great goal. Good luck with your goal. I am sure that you are going to be very successful.

Wow. That is a lot to think about. I will give it some thought.

Oh ... thanks for the time out tip. I will have to use that idea. I am about at wits end. Ready to ship the both of them off your way! :o)

I have a friend who also does this. I have been trying to come up with a word for like a year but I think I finally have it: TIME. Meaning like.....take the time.

It's a great concept really. I like your choice.

Thanks for your nice comment today. I wasn't sad just stuck in that odd place I get every now and then when i don't want a good time to end. Then...it gets me thinking about ALL the good times gone by!

I do love the present, though and LOVED the Kung Fu quote. I'm saving that one!

XOXO

I don't know if I could top conquer. It's pretty darn good. I might go with something like patience, listen or survive. LOL. OK not really, but conquer definitely takes the cake. Good luck with all your goals!
