I Am a Happy Mama!

I am an extremely happy mama!
Yesterday, we had parent teacher conference for Shaeler. We sat down with her teacher Mrs. White and she showed me all the things that Shaeler has accomplished so far this year.
My jaw hit the ground!
Shaeler's test scores were fantastic! She is doing so well in her class and is grasping all the things that are being taught to her. As her mother, I am tickled pink.
I love her school. I love the curriculum that they use. Shae is learning things that I remember learning in the second grade. I wasn't sure about a Kindergartener coming home with spelling words for spelling tests, but I can see the huge difference in her reading because of it.
When she reads to me the homework that she comes home with, I am amazed that she knows words like "people, could, jazzy, or friend."
As she left for school today, I reminded her that "you are my friend, until the end!" to help her with her spelling word friend for her test today. She yells back "I know, mom! I have a song for it!"

I am extremely grateful for the school that Shaeler goes to. Her teacher invests a lot of time with Shae and knows her learning abilities. They are very creative in the ways that they teach math, reading, spanish, music and random facts. I love that everyday they start with a devotional of prayer, song, happy thoughts and then going over what they are going to learn that day.

A couple of months ago, we had a Family Home Evening on the state of Colorado taught by Shaeler. She wanted to tell us about Colorado because that is where Barbie comes from.

She knows the song of "Fifty Nifty United States" and can sing it better than her cousin who is older than her.

As her mother, I love that she is getting a fabulous education at school because when she comes home to me, we can learn in fun ways. Instead of me trying to teach her the things she is not getting at school, our time is playing together and me backing up the things she was taught by her teacher. This is AWESOME!! Mrs White is fully aware of Shae and her abilities as I am as her mother. So thankful for the time that she invests into my daughter.
So for our great meeting, we celebrated!
We went and got cookies and got some books and movies at the library.
Which leads me into the second reason I am a happy mama!
Over the Top Gourmet Cookies is divine! You really have to go there and try it!

I highly recommend the Twix Cookie! Very rich, even I the sweet tooth queen could not finish this one all the way!

Way to go Shae, we love you dearly over here!
We hope that Bay lucks out and wins the lottery so that we can hope for a better educational experience as well.
Thanks for wearing my little gal out at playtime:)

Hooray!! I love great parent teacher conferences. Unfortunately I have had both good and not so good.:-) Congrats to your sweet daughter. And I am avoiding sweets for the moment so I will not comment on those very yummy, delicious looking cookies.
